Keynote Speakers

  • Julia Silge headshot Julia Silge is a data scientist and software engineer at Posit PBC (formerly RStudio) where she works on open source modeling and MLOps tools. She is an author, an international keynote speaker, and a real-world practitioner focusing on data analysis and machine learning. Julia loves text analysis, making beautiful charts, and communicating about technical topics with diverse audiences.
  • Oliver Hawkins headshot Oliver Hawkins works as an editorial data scientist for the visual and data journalism team at the Financial Times. He has previously worked as a statistical researcher and a data scientist for the House of Commons Library, and as a data journalist for the BBC. He is interested in statistics, machine learning and data visualisation.

Venue

King’s Bush House buildings provide a home for many of their academic departments, as well as state-of-the-art learning and social spaces and enhanced student facilities. These buildings include lecture theatres, teaching rooms, a 395-seat auditorium, and The Exchange, an open, collaborative space designed for events and exhibitions.

Bush House is a Grade II listed building at the southern end of Kingsway between Aldwych and the Strand. Located around a 10 minute walk from Covent Garden, Trafalgar Square and many other London landmarks, there are plenty of transport options for you to choose from!
